Just forced to Log in again
I have been using this forum all morning long.
now, suddenly I am forced to log in again, and agree to the Cookie Policy.
why?
Nothing has changed, it happened midway between reading threads.

Re: Just forced to Log in again
Appears the forum was not the culprit.
Every website I go to is forcing me to log in again.
Firefox just dumped it all....

Me too. Odd that. But it appears only on my Linux devices. Every Linux device using Chrome just dumped all my log in information. No issues on my windows desktop at all.

Cookies expire eventually, that is all that happened.
I’ll tell you a DNS joke but be advised, it could take up to 24 hours for everyone to get it.

Re: Just forced to Log in again
all of them simultaneously? and on 3 separate machines, in the same day?
my sister's LM20.3 Cinnamon did the same exact thing yesterday, she asked me "why did my browser loose all of my passwords?"
I don't buy your excuse for 1 second.
my yahoo email, this forum, my bank, gmail, my Weather websites?
you are going to tell me that every single one of those cookies expired on the same exact day?
Bull crap

yes, whether you buy it or not. it's possible because if you have the same basic browsing pattern day to day, the cookies can all expire at the same time depending on the time set by the site owners (eg. 30,60,90 days)

you did not see where I said my sister's PC also did the same exact thing, on the same day.antikythera wrote: ⤴Mon Sep 26, 2022 3:49 am yes, whether you buy it or not. it's possible because if you have the same basic browsing pattern day to day, the cookies can all expire at the same time depending on the time set by the site owners (eg. 30,60,90 days)
She is in Price, Utah where I stayed with her from July 4th thru Sept 16th this year.
She and her hubby came down with CV-19 and I took care of her ranch animals until she was able to get back up and feed them....
I installed LM20.3 Cinnamon on her Win10 PC after it crashed...
asked her "does it matter what is behind the screen, if you can still access Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo Email??
she admitted it does not, and it has not crashed once since I put Mint on her PC
I live just north of Tulsa, Oklahoma which is a far piece from Price, Utah.... so explain why her Firefox went stupid the same day mine did?
Her browsing habits are nothing like mine.
and, Murph down in San Antonio, Texas..... some 450 miles south of me

Do you use Firefox Sync?

Re: Just forced to Log in again
yes, on the Daily Driver, but the others are not allowed to sync up, they are rarely used, and I don't want things messed up.... been down that road, it is dangerous.
the only way to guarantee things, is to do a backup to a HTML file, or .json file.
Re: Just forced to Log in again
I don't use that function, but I thought its purpose was to sync more than one Firefox install. How does one use it on only one install? Are you just syncing it to the Firefox cloud server?
From what I could find, I don't think it syncs cookies.

Re: Just forced to Log in again
Here is some Firefox information why is my login data being erased every time I clear history or just shut down? which mentions some things which might clear cookies.

Re: Just forced to Log in again
I use Chrome and had the same issue, which was just odd, I have never had this happen before.
