How about this next Saturday at around 0900 those who want to get together meet at Merit Coffee 700 E Sonterra Blvd #1113, San Antonio, TX 78258. https://meritcoffee.com/ I'll be there with my little black laptop and a Stephen F. Austin University ball cap. If you are interested.

You better put down a date, such as Dec. 3rd. When I lived in Texas half a century ago, next Saturday and Saturday next were two different days. Next Saturday would be Dec. 10th and Saturday next would be Dec. 3rd.

I spent half my life in Texas, and both meant the same exact thing.Lady Fitzgerald wrote: ⤴Sun Nov 27, 2022 8:08 pm You better put down a date, such as Dec. 3rd. the next coming Saturday, whether that be 2 days or 9 days.
to make it clear, we always stated Saturday the 17th or whatever.

Maybe it depended on what part of Texas you were in. I was in Abilene.AZgl1800 wrote: ⤴Sun Nov 27, 2022 9:10 pmI spent half my life in Texas, and both meant the same exact thing.Lady Fitzgerald wrote: ⤴Sun Nov 27, 2022 8:08 pm You better put down a date, such as Dec. 3rd. Maybe it depended on what part of Texas you were in. I was in Abilene.
Lived in Denver City, TX & Hobbs, NM ( 20 miles west ) and our company HQ was in Midland,
my job had me travelling all over West Texas and New Mexico working on oil field communications equipment.
I hobnobbed with the plant employees, and spent a lot of time in the offices of each location, as that is where the communications equipment was located....
my dialect is so strong, that no one who has talked with me very much, mistakes who I am when I call on a phone.... they call me "TexMexOkie John"
from 1968 through 2010, I worked in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri,
and very briefly in Indiana and Michigan.... I did not like that country, and asked to be transferred back west so I could "see the Horizon"

Re: San Antonio Mint/Linux users meeting
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to go. I've never been to Texas, and I'd love to see San Antonio. It's just that it's a wee bit far from my house for a "quick trip".
Does the place serve good tea? I love coffee, but my body will no longer tolerate it at all.

You know I have not tried their tea. I cannot answer that question, but I will find out this weekend and get back to you.
Re: San Antonio Mint/Linux users meeting
If Merit coffee is not ok, we could meet somewhere else?
Re: San Antonio Mint/Linux users meeting
I will not be able to make it.
