And some people thought cryptocurrencies were safe too. Whatever that's new in tech world, better to remain skeptical over optimistic.

I've used Lastpass for years with no problems. Since they use end-to-end encryption with zero knowledge on their part, it would seemingly require something like quantum computers to break into the password database.

I use KeePassXC also. Its just common sense to me that you do not store your data on other's computers - especially login credentials. I understand that they are all encrypted blah, blah, blah. However, There always seems to be some kink in the system that will allow someone to recover them. Besides, A lot of sites never seem to tell you of some break in until about a month goes by.

Been using Bitwarden and it seems OK so far.

Even if no customer data was stolen, the reputation of a company whose entire raison d'etre is security will be quickly demolished by frequent hacker intrusion.

I have never and will never trust third parties with any data of mine.

I agree, but I have to qualify it by inserting "implicitly and exclusively" between the words "never" and "trust." I have a few cloud storage accounts, but none of them contain anything that I do not have redundant backups entirely under my control.

I don't trust cloud computing very much either. I keep my files, passwords and OS local. Just my 2 cents I guess I am behind the times

If your passwords aren't zero knowledge stored, there's no point.

It's also critical — as i think this situation illustrates — people take responsibility for their own security.
