I'm someone who is aware of the issue of privacy while surfing the Internet.

A term often used by people on forums is, "google is your friend".
But did you know that google collects all your search quires?, and did you notice the "http", which is not a secure connection.

For this reason i use the Ixquik search engine, which uses https, (there is a http version as-well).

I also use the Ghostery firefox add-on, you can use this to block trackers.
It also gives you information about what these trackers do, so that you can make an informed decision whether to block them or not.

Obviously i'm not all knowing , so i'm always interested to hear from others what they do to protect their privacy.

Google tracking is rather common knowledge. I use Scroogle a lot more now.
I also have FF configured to delete ALL info every time I close the browser and I close the browser a dozen times a day.
I clear Macromedia cookies regularly also.
I never allow Third Party Cookies.
I view forums not logged in. I only login to post messages and then I log out immediately. Forums like to track you and retain data also.

Don't even mention Facebook.

I'm cautious about what I put out there. For me, "If you wouldn't put it on the front page of your local newspaper, don't put it out on the internet" seems to be a good rule of thumb.

That said, I don't spend much time at all concerning myself with privacy when it comes to web browsing. I clear all my browsing history at the end of each session, that's about it. I don't lose any sleep about what data someone might be collecting about my web browsing habits. I guess I figure I have a lot more important things to worry about everyday.

Use the BetterPrivacy add-in for firefox. It will delete/remove flash cookies, even those accepted by other browsers. These cookies may also be called LSOs and SuperCookies.
