Still using Mint as my main distro. Currently17.3 Cinnamon.

Try the specially brewed green mint beer in the cafe. It's delicious!

A....green mint beer! Great, Ken. Sure would like to try it.
So far 2016 seems no different from 2015. But I still use Mint since 2005. Mint 17.3 Cinnamon too.
Glad to hear from you Ken, old man.
I'm hanging on, hoping to reach the 90 area in the Twilight Zone........
Keep in touch my friend.
Cheers and have a green beer on me! :)

REMINISCING THE OLD DAYS

We had a good supply of booze
Twas really hard for me to choose
A shot of this, a shot of that
I lost me head, and lost me hat

Methinks I have the damn thing mastered
I never thought I'd get so plastered
And here she is my pretty Daryna
She looks to me like damn Catrina

Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum
Look at me the stinking bum!

Hi npap!

Glad to see you haven't lost your passion for good poetry. :)

I've been using Mint since 2006. We had some good times here in the early days!

Customer: Morning,

Clem: Morning.

Customer: What have you got?

Clem: Well, there's kernel and Ubuntu,
kernel Debian and Ubuntu,
Kernel and Mint,
Kernel, Ubuntu and Mint
Kernel, Ubuntu, Debian and Mint
Mint, Ubuntu, Debian and Mint
Mint, kernel, Mint, Mint, Ubuntu and Mint
Mint, Debian, Mint, Mint, Mint, Ubuntu, Mint Mate and Mint
Mint, Mint, Mint, kernel and Mint
Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Cinnamon, Mint, Mint, Mint and Mint

(Choir: Mint! Mint! Mint! Mint! Lovely Mint! Lovely Mint!)

Or Lobster Thermidor aux crevettes with a Mornay sauce, served in a Provençale manner with shallots and aubergines, garnished with truffle pâté, brandy and a fried kernel on top and Mint

Wife: Have you got anything without Mint?

Clem: Well, the Mint, kernels, Debian and Mint. That's not got much Mint in it

Wife: I don't want any Mint!

Customer: Why can't she have kernels, Ubuntu, Mint and Debian?

Wife: That's got Mint in it!

Customer: Hasn't got much Mint in it as Mint, kernels, Debian and Mint has it?

(Choir: Mint! Mint! Mint!...)

Wife: Could you do me kernels, Ubuntu, Mint and Debian without the Mint, then?

Clem: Iiiiiiiiiiiich!!

Wife: What do you mean 'Iiiiiiiiiich'? I don't like Mint!

(Choir: Lovely Mint! Wonderful Mint!)

Clem (to choir): Shut up!

(Choir: Lovely Mint! Wonderful Mint!)

Clem: Shut Up! Bloody Vikings! You can't have kernel, Ubuntu, Mint and Debian without the Mint.

Wife: I don't like Mint!

Customer: Shush dear, don't have a fuss. I'll have your Mint. I love it, I'm having Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Cinnamon, Mint, Mint, Mint, and Mint!

(Choir: Mint! Mint! Mint! Mint! Lovely Mint! Wonderful Mint!)

Clem: Shut Up!! Cinnamon's off.

Customer: Well, could I have her Mint instead of the Cinnamon then?

Clem: You mean Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint, Mint and Mint?

Choir (intervening)
: Mint! Mint! Mint! Mint!
Lovely Mint! Wonderful Mint!
Mint mi-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-nt Mint mi-hi-hi-hi-hint Mint.

A rhyme from a would be Guru.

I've seen a few pleas for help from "Gurus" in the Newbie Questions section. Inspired, I guess, by the "All Gurus once were Newbies." string on the board index page. So as an occasional poet, I wrote the following rhyme to the chorus of The Gnu Song, with which I'm sure you're all familiar.

Muppet Show version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGVdCGxh1IY

(I'm not actually claiming Guru status of course. It's for entertainment only)

I'm a guru.
A grubby guru.
I have the greatest knowledge of Gnu.

I'm a guru.
You could be too.
Just read a fine manual or two.

Whatever you do
keep providing the clue.
Soon everyone will be like me and you.

Then all can afford
their systems secured.
If broken they can even be restored.

By root and by toor!
No more dump the core.
I'm a guru, but I need to learn much more.

:)

Hello there, how do I change the board colour to Green? I liked the Green look. I looked in Control Panel but no luck.
Thank you regards beachgardener.

That's not a thing you can change. In case you haven't noticed, the forum software has been replaced because there was a security breach. Clem and the rest of the team are busy making things work as they should again, I imagine the colour of the forum page is not their first concern.

Just in case, have you changed your forum password yet? Because if not, you really should.

Yes thank you, I did change my password. Yes I did notice the change in the board.
Was just wondering about the colour as I can change colour on other boards. Anyway no big deal maybe further down the track they can give options for colour.
Thank you regards beachgardener.

Good to hear that you changed your password.
The option to change the colour would definitely be nice, I agree... maybe it'll be added later.

The theme will be worked on later. This is not a top priority at the moment for the team :)

That breach a month or so ago did remind me that this place existed, so I guess there's that. But since I don't use Linux Mint any more, there isn't much reason for me to use these forums.

I will mention that I use Two-Factor Authentication wherever I can, and as more websites enable it, I highly recommend anyone worried about their internet security to do the same.

Got 2.1 speakers and new keyboard today. Now enjoying the bass :) . And the keyboard is 'gaming' type with highlighted WSAD keys. I didn't know that was a thing.

Started Windows 10 today to check some things... And the start menu won't open! Man, I'm fed up with this OS. I hope I'll build a new computer for Linux+Win7 in the next 2 months with your advices.
