I've decided to buy a new Netbook (mini-laptop)vrkalak wrote:I'm contemplating on buying a new laptop. As my old Gateway is getting rather old and has seen better days.
It only has 183 Mb of usable RAM anymore and a 40 Gb hard-drive ... although, Linux has given it new life.
Either an Acer Aspire One or a HP Mini Netbook . . . the specs are fairly similar, and both are stated to work well with Linux.
Specs for both include 10" monitor with 1 Gb of RAM and 160 Gb hard-drive.
Any comments or concerns about either Netbook, or Netbooks , in general?
But, don't "hi-jack" this topic .... send me a PM better.

About the Acers, I got an Aspire (from ~2007), and... Meh. I've had better. I guess it might have something to do with Vista running on it.

Neato! Mint sure is growing fast! I'm happy with #! though, Mint is a bit too slow and bloated for my tastes.

@npap, I know! it's been too long my friend. my job has been crazy for the last year and I've neglected the minty goodness of the cafe.

Re: THE MINT CAFE
Looks like LMDE is playing hard to get
I had to try three times to get it. First it was a bad DVD. Then my bad Hard Disk cracking up.
I finally changed disks. That did it.
Well my fellow LMDebians, it was worth all the trouble.
It's also nice to see some good old friends here.
Let's see if Kenetics, our official bartender, will show up.
At the moment, here's a round of Mint Julep cocktails for everybody.
And Hooray to Clem, for he's a jolly good fellow and nobody can deny it.
Hip, Hip!
Bottoms up!

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
apt-utils: Depends: libapt-pkg4.10
aptitude: Depends: libapt-pkg4.10
Recommends: aptitude-doc-en but it is not installed or

python-apt: Depends: libapt-pkg4.10
synaptic: Depends: libapt-pkg4.10
