no write-combining in /proc/mtrr

Postby baton » Sat Feb 23, 2013 11:14 am

Hi !

I love Mint for its usability and performance. Now I have bought new powerfull pc and my graphics is not that fast I expected, kindly saying. I have only 60fps in glxgears :-( I think that the problem is in my mtrr/nvidia driver configuration but after few days googleing I cannot find a solution. Here is my inxi:

Code: Select all

baton@cichosz ~ $ inxi -SGx
System:    Host: cichosz Kernel: 3.5.0-17-generic x86_64 (64 bit, gcc: 4.7.2) Desktop: Gnome Distro: Linux Mint 14 Nadia
Graphics:  Card: NVIDIA Device 11c0 bus-ID: 01:00.0 X.Org: 1.13.0 driver: nvidia Resolution: 1920x1200@60.0hz
GLX Renderer: GeForce GTX 660/PCIe/SSE2 GLX Version: 4.3.0 NVIDIA 310.14 Direct Rendering: Yes

and here is my /proc/mtrr:

Code: Select all

baton@cichosz ~ $ cat /proc/mtrr
reg00: base=0x000000000 (    0MB), size= 2048MB, count=1: write-back
reg01: base=0x080000000 ( 2048MB), size= 1024MB, count=1: write-back
reg02: base=0x0c0000000 ( 3072MB), size=  128MB, count=1: write-back
reg03: base=0x0c7800000 ( 3192MB), size=    8MB, count=1: uncachable
reg04: base=0x100000000 ( 4096MB), size= 4096MB, count=1: write-back
reg05: base=0x200000000 ( 8192MB), size=  512MB, count=1: write-back
reg06: base=0x220000000 ( 8704MB), size=  256MB, count=1: write-back
reg07: base=0x22f600000 ( 8950MB), size=    2MB, count=1: uncachable
reg08: base=0x22f800000 ( 8952MB), size=    8MB, count=1: uncachable

Please help me.

glxgears is not a benchmark. Moreover, 60fps is very probably the vertical sync of your LCD/LED monitor and not the real stuff ;)
Main desktop: Debian GNU/Linux Jessie 64bit - MATE
(i5 2400@3.7GHz - 16GB DDR3 - HD6770 w/radeon driver - SSD+RAID1)
Safer than Dropbox
