Slow intel 4600 performance i7

Post by mazzy »

Any tips on getting better performance out of LM16 when it comes to expo and other desktop functions? Also dragging windows around produces quite a low framerate as well when compared to other operating systems

Running 2 24" monitors @ 1920x1200..

Code: Select all

$ inxi -G
Graphics: Card: Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller
           X.Org: 1.14.3 drivers: intel (unloaded: fbdev,vesa) Resolution: 1920x1200@60.0hz, 1920x1200@60.0hz
GLX Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel Haswell Desktop GLX Version: 3.0 Mesa 9.2.1

Bump.

I'm seeing considerable lag as well on a Dell M4800 with a FullHD screen. Performance improves drastically when connecting an external monitor over VGA. The HDMI port doesn't recognize any devices.

Graphics: Card-1: Intel 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller
Card-2: NVIDIA GK106GLM [Quadro K2100M]
X.Org: 1.14.5 drivers: intel (unloaded: fbdev,vesa) Resolution: 1920x1080@60.0hz
GLX Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel Haswell Mobile GLX Version: 3.0 Mesa 9.2.1

I also have bumblebee installed and running. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I created the following file under cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf and that seems to have done the trick for video performance. HDMI however still doesn't work.

Section "Device"
Identifier "Card0"
Driver "intel
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
EndSection
