Enabling S3 Trio as a second adapter

Just as stated in the subject, I've shoved a vintage S3 Trio to my system. I want to connect a projector to it and use it like a third monitor.
The trouble is, Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon is only partially aware of my intentions. Although some commands do acknowledge the presence of my extra GPU, I can't see how can I make use of my card because the "Display" tool doesn't see anything except of my two monitors plugged into my primary GPU.

Here are some command outputs (essential parts only):

sudo lspci -vvvv

Code: Select all

Hmm, so I figure I must pick a driver for my card. How do I do that?
Thanks for your help in advance!

I have figured out some solutions, but none of them seems to work.

- I have read that the "xserver-xorg-video-s3" package is essential, but it is already installed in Mint by default
- I have removed "s3fg" from the kernel module blacklist,
- Many people suggest modifying xorg.conf to point a driver to a device, but I read on this forum that xorg.conf is obsolete and should not be used. Then what?

The output of the commands has not changed. Of course I did a full reset after each step.

Any ideas? Guyyys..

EDIT: I found this in dmesg:

Code: Select all

[ 6.010906] s3fb 0000:05:01.0: ignoring secondary device
Does that mean I can't use secondary VGA card by design of the system? :/
