Driver nvidia-340 causing keyboard delays?

Post by Pjotr » Wed Sep 30, 2015 5:05 am

After I installed the nvidia-340 driver for my Nvidia GeForce 210 video card, by means of Driver Manager, I immediately experienced delays in keyboard strokes (several seconds) when typing text.

When I downgraded to the legacy nvidia-304 driver, this problem was solved instantly. My OS is Mint 17.2 Cinnamon, by the way.

On this forum I've seen several reports of people stating that they have keyboard lags. And in most of the cases that I've seen, their video card was running on the nvidia-340.

Can we assume that the nvidia-340 driver has a serious flaw?

I have 8600 GT card which is supported by the 340 but when I enable it and open a terminal it is just black. That was a show stopper for me so I never checked to see how the keyboard behaved. Have to stick with the 304 here.
