video to second monitor with different picture ratio

Post by ml2 » Sun Dec 03, 2006 2:33 pm

I only installed Bea today, have been using Ubuntu before.
I have a laptop and I cannot get normal picture to my second monitor. Laptop has widescreen ratio and the second monitor is normal size.
Is there a way through this?

Did you have it working before in Ubuntu ? I believe you can use something called xinerama (or is cinerama).. I don't really know, it's possible but I've never done it before.

I did not video working in Ubuntu, but I did get the picture to the monitor with the laptops LCD shortcut.
There are 3 options: 1) only laptop, 2) only the second monitor, 3) both. In ubuntu I got the picture to the second monitor with the right ratio with option 2) and picture to the second monitor incl video but with widescreen ratio in option 3). In LinuxMint the option 2) does not give any signal to the other monitor, but option 3) is the same as was in Ubuntu.
Thanks for your suggestion, I will see what I can do in the end of the week.
