StarTech USB to Dual HDMI Adapter

Post by droopy91 »

Hello!

First of all, sorry for my bad english. My native language is spanish and I am doing my best effort.

Saying that I am presenting my computer:
  • OS: Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon 64-bit
    Version: 3.2.7
    Linux core: 4.4.0-92-generic
I have recently bought from Amazon a StarTech USB to Dual HDMI Adapter - 4K because in the faq section some people said that it worked with Linux.

I made what this tutorial said I should do and nothing worked: support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/684649-how-to-install-displaylink-software-on-ubuntu. I also made what this article said http://support.displaylink.com/knowledg ... les/679060, and what both topics said, this viewtopic.php?t=225011 and this one viewtopic.php?t=218248.

Before I go I paste the output after executing sudo bash displaylink-installer.sh install

DisplayLink Linux Software 1.3.54 install script called: install
Distribution discovered: Linux Mint 18.1 Serena
Installing
Configuring EVDI DKMS module
Registering EVDI kernel module with DKMS
Building EVDI kernel module with DKMS
Installing EVDI kernel module to kernel tree
EVDI kernel module built successfully
Installing x64-ubuntu-1604/DisplayLinkManager
Installing libraries
Installing firmware packages
Installing license file
Adding udev rule for DisplayLink DL-3xxx/5xxx devices

If any one know what should I do to make this adapter work I would be very grateful!!

Thank you!

Hi

Did you ever have any luck resolving this issue? I purchased a device with the same chipset and could not get it to work.
