Second Monitor not Recognized Unless I Kill The Xsession

Postby Styper » Tue Nov 28, 2017 4:10 pm

Hello,

I'm facing a problem where my second monitor doesn't get recognized until I either reboot or kill Xsession with CTRL + ALT + Backspace (this throws me back at the login screen so it's hardly a solution).

Was working fine like a week ago, not sure what happened.

Steps to reproducing the error:
1. boot laptop and login as usual
2. disconnect the second monitor
3. connect it again

"Workaround":
Killing the Xsession with CTRL + ALT + Backspace

What I've tried so far:
- Renaming the ~/.config/monitors.xml prior to login
- Going to System Settings -> Display and clicking "Detect Displays": Nothing happens
- Tested it with another monitor/VGA cable

Here is some info:
