Heading out, might check in later tonight but probably only again tomorrow.

Thanks all for the help and suggestions so far - appreciated. Enjoy the weekend! :D

Nope, 390 drivers not working either - at some stage the monitor just goes to sleep because stops getting input.

I'm going to try and update the Noveau driver in the same way I updated Nvidia driver.

EDIT: Well, that didn't work - I've no idea how to 'update' the Noveau driver ....it just sounded like a good idea at the time
I'm downloading nvidia-375.82, nvidia-370.28 and nvidia-367.57 from the Nvidia site and will see if I can somehow get one of those to work manually....

Absolutely no issues here.

I would boot using nomodeset uninstall all Nvidia drivers.

Run.

Code: Select all

dpkg -l | grep nvidia
To get installed VERSION
Then

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get purge nvidia-VERSION ( versions )
Then

Code: Select all

sudo apt autoremove
Re-boot then go to driver manager and install NVIDIA 384.111 ( Meltdown and Spectre patch version ) and a final re-boot.

If you continue to experience problems the next step would be to re-seat the card. Give the slot a spray with some compressed air, card too. If none of this works its a hardware issue.

Code: Select all
