Hi,
According to inxi -G I have following system at my desk:
Graphics: Card: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Turks [Radeon HD 7600 Series]
Display Server: X.Org 1.18.4 drivers: ati,radeon (unloaded: fbdev,vesa)
Resolution: 1920x1080@60.00hz
GLX Renderer: AMD TURKS (DRM 2.50.0 / 4.13.0-31-generic, LLVM 5.0.0)
GLX Version: 3.0 Mesa 17.2.4
Everything is working fine except graphics card's fan is at high speed and makes annoying noise.
Is there any way to control / lower fan speed with combination of LM Mate 18.3, ATI Radeon 7670 and open source drivers.
Thank you
D.

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)
Press Enter.

Try the older 4.4 kernel series. Install the latest one (currently: 4.4.0-112):
Update Manager - panel: View - Linux kernels
Reboot and boot from that kernel (it's under the header Advanced in the Grub bootloader menu). When satisfactory, remove all installed kernels from all higher series.

Re: LinuxMint MATE 18.3 / ATI HD 7670 fan control
Hi Pjotr,
Have done that, but got no improvement. I have noticed lagging at displaying windows and squared images.
Are there any settings within power management which can fix fan?

Hi,
Dealing with this card took me many hours.
At the end I have decided to remove fan and put passive cooler on the card. Everything works and sounds fine now ...
