[SOLVED]"Cinnamon just crashed" loop with nvidia driver

Hello,

I have been searching for a solution for this problem for months but have never found any solution.
I am using Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia and Nvidia geForce 1060. The nvidia driver version is: 390.25.

When I boot the PC, the cinnamon crashes and this message is shown on the display:
"cinnamon just crashed you are currently running in Fallback Mode."

It asks if I want to restart, but even if I click 'yes', it just appears again on the screen with the same message.
I tried:
sudo apt-get remove nvidia*
sudo apt-get remove cuda*
sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall
...which brought me exactly same version of nvidia driver (390.25)

Also tried to install the driver from the nvidia's official webpage:
http://www.nvidia.co.jp/Download/index.aspx
...which brought exactly same version of nvidia driver (390.25)

And tried:
sudo prime-select intel
and reboot.

It worked, but seems like "nvidia-smi" command doesn't work after this command, so I need to do:
sudo prime-select nvidia
everytime after booting the PC.

What can I do to remove the crash message permanently?

Actually I know and already tried the article you linked. But I tried it again just in case. It didn't work. Still crashing.
