Running in software rendering mode -> mint 19

Post by Taxick » Mon Jul 23, 2018 3:03 pm

Hi.

First i will say, I'm totally noob to Linux. and my English is not so good. I Hope you understand me.

Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon (64-bit) is my first Linux! I come from Windows 10, but i hope you can help me out here...

I get this box anytime i turn my computer on:
Running in software rendering mode

Cinnamon is currently running without video hardware acceleration and, as a result, you may observe much higher than normal CPU usage.

There could be a problem with your drivers or some other issue. For the best experience, it is recommended that you only use this mode for troubleshooting purposes."
I run mint on my workstation, and not in any virtual environment!

Here is my system info

if the error message was "There could be a problem with your drivers or some other issue".
then did you update the Driver for that NVIDIA GP104 [GeForce GTX 1080 :?:
- in Control Center - - Hardware - - Driver Manager.

Hi :)

After some days testing, the conclusion was, secure boot was on.

After I turn it off, I and install mint again I cut install Nvidia driver form this guide:

https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/12

And then I did go Control Center - - Hardware - - Driver Manager and select the driver I installed

And now all the problems are gone! + other problem fixed too!

Thanks for your help
