HP Pavilion 24-b037c Touchscreen Support

Post by SEEK »

I have fully installed Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon on my HP Pavilion after tiring of dealing with multiple Windows 10 glitches from way to big of updates and the lack of HP support for anything outside of warranty unless you are willing to pay way too much money for their computer illiterate customers or the extended warranty. Most everything is working flawlessly. One of the issues that I am running into is that I cannot seem to get my touchscreen working on my HP Pavilion 24-b037c (Touch) All-In-One PC. I have the latest BIOS version loaded and as far as I can tell the latest graphics driver with not luck. Now it needs to be said that the touchscreen conveniently stopped working shortly after my warranty ran out and while still on Windows 10. I am confused as to why it would mysteriously stop working for no good reason. I do get it and i am not beyond the idea that sometime electronics do fail randomly without logical explanation but I like to do as much as I can before I have to concede to that resolve.

Here are the hardware details of my machine currently:

So, not sure if it was just coincidence or not but I randomly opened the virtual keyboard application and it magically started to work even after I turned off the virtual keyboard. I have rebooted a couple of times and so far so good.
