Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.

That's a very old machine. The newer drivers don't support your video card.

catweazel is correct. No Nvidia driver available for that ancient video card in Mint 19.

Don't try other means to install its old driver: it's doomed to fail, because that old driver can't deal with the modern kernel and graphics stack in Mint 19.

By the way: why heavy flagship Cinnamon on that museum piece? Only lightweight Xfce will perform a little better on it than just showing signs of life.

OK I thought so, the museum piece performed better with linux mint cinnamon than slackware with xfce. I have other computers with arch linux but they have abandon 32 bit except for archlinux32 but I don´t like it.

I have to go with nouveau driver, but it is ok.

Thanks.
