Weird problem with graphics

Post by Cosmic47 »

Hi everyone, I've been having an issue lately where icons (such as the update or menu icons) and some text end up "chopped off" so to speak. I sometimes can't even see them anymore because they completely disappear. I have been working on Inkscape and Gimp lately and I've been encountering this more often the longer my computer remains on. It wouldn't bother me much if it didn't affect my ability to work on my projects, but it does so I'm hoping there is a fix. To be fair, my graphics card is from 2006 so I can only assume this might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure.

I'm running Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon 64 bit on the 4.4.0-116 Kernel. If there is a way to prevent this from happening I would really appreciate the advice.

Output of inxi -Fxz if it helps:
