Internal Monitor black on Thinkpad X-220 / Mint 19

Post by Stephan »

After new setup of Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon on 2 Lenovo Thinkpad X-220 I found one with "black" internal monitor.
One machine is working fine. The second has a problem.
On this second machine an external monitor is working fine, The output signal of the internal monitor (LVDS-1) is displayed as well on the external monitor (VGA-1), leaving the internal monitor blank/black.
Hardware should be ok. Monitor switches on/off, backlight is working.

Bios settings of both machines are equal, I had removed the batterie as well as the BIOS backup batterie.

inxi -Fxz shows
Graphics: Card: Intel 2nd Generation Core Integrated Graphics Controller
bus-ID: 00:02.0
Display Server: x11 (X.Org 1.19.6 )
drivers: modesetting (unloaded: fbdev,vesa)
Resolution: 1680x1050@59.95hz
OpenGL: renderer: Mesa DRI Intel Sandybridge Mobile
version: 3.3 Mesa 18.0.5 Direct Render: Yes

xrandr shows

Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1680 x 1050, maximum 8192 x 8192
LVDS-1 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
VGA-1 connected primary 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 474mm x 296mm

I guess i need to arrange swapping the output signal (LVDS-1) from VGA-1 plug to the internal monitor plug.
Does anyone have any idea how to?
