Touch screen doesn't work

Post by bartech99 »

Hi, it is my first serious meeting with Linux. I have installed Linux Mint on HP envy x350 15-cp0013nr (Ryzen) and my touchscreen doesn't even react. On Windows works perfectly. Here it behaves like it doesn't exist. Please help me to install some drivers to run it.

This isn't Windows, you don't just look for the newest drivers in Linux necessarily. Drivers are mostly in the kernel. There does seem to be a bug there ...

... and it doesn't seem the kernel patches are out yet.

Upgrade your Linux kernel to a version which is 4.19.10 or above. This has the patch bundled in.

I would suggest upgrading to 4.20 (as this in a mainline kernel).

You can do this easily by installing Ukuu, instructions on how to do this below:

I have the same problem. Touchscreen works fine in windows and even in the virtual box install of Mint but doesn't work at all in the dual boot I just installed.

I tried the kernal upgrade that Greenfire suggested but still no touchscreen function.

Help?
