2nd screen configuration restricted

Post by vardanq »

Hello ,
I'm new to linux, I installed the Mint 19 Tara recently and I have 2 screens lg E2042 and lg E2041 with a HD5450 1gb DDR3 video card.
I have the visual configured as an extended desktop.
My problem is that they are detected according to the following:
E2042 is shown as goldstar company ltd 20 "VGA-0: 1600x900 60Hz
E2041 is shown as Unknown DVI-0: 1024x768 60Hz
Try E2041 to show up at par at 1600x900 but you can not, the maximum setting is 1024x768. Try to reverse the connections but the same thing happens.
I hope you can help me with this problem. Thank you :D .

Hi vardanq,
maybe it's not very relevant, but in the past I had troubles while using video adapters. Are these monitors connected natively to the video card or through adapters?
Cheers,

Hello Marco how are you?
Thank you for responding, sorry for not seeing your message before I was out of town. According to what you tell me if I actually have the screen E2041 VGA output with VGA cable connected to a DVI-I adapter to the graphics card.
What do you recommend me; change over a VGA / HDMI cable?
With this I would solve the hardware / screen recognition and resolution?
I remain attentive to your answer, thank you very much!
Cheers,

Daniel

No idea if this will solve your issue or not since I'm not even sure this is causing the problem... sorry...
