conflicting report on whether or not Nvidia drivers installed properly

After installing the PPA and all prerequisites, and otherwise installing the drivers with no problem. the Nvidia app and driver manager is telling me that it is applied but also that there are no proprietary drivers in use. I'm not sure which one to believe and IDK of any way to test that.

If you use Driver Manager to install a Nvidia driver that comes from the repositories, then you will see the message 1 proprietary driver in use.

However, if you add the graphics-drivers PPA and then install a Nvidia driver in Driver Manager that comes from that PPA, then you will see the message No proprietary drivers are in use, which is not correct, an apparent bug.

Your inxi output correctly shows the Nvidia 410.78 is loaded. Also, the NVIDIA X Server Settings utility will be missing most of it’s categories if the Nvidia driver is not loaded.

Another bug you will see that started with Mint 19 and is still present in Mint 19 BETA, is when the Nvidia driver is removed by selecting the nouveau driver. After rebooting, Driver Manager will show the message Continue using a manually installed driver and all the drivers will be grayed out, so they can’t be selected. To correct this, use the command apt autoremove in the Terminal to remove other Nvidia files and reboot.

good to know, thanks!

The funny thing is, I was worried about this Because I got the greying out bug you've mentioned previously and I went to an earlier snapshot to get rid of it!
