Hello everyone,
From my work, i have retrieved a small tower Dell Precision 1700 with a Nvidia Quadro K600 inside.
I would like to change the video card with a Gigabyte Low profile GT 1030
The dimensions:
K600: 2.1 cm x 16.7 cm x 6.6 cm
GT 1030: 1.47 cm x 14.99 cm x 6.89 cm
As you can see the GT is 0,29cm higher and I think there is something like 0,6cm of space between the video card fan and the power supply.
Do ou think it's enough for the fan to have 0,3 or 0,4 cm of space in order to work properly?
Thanks for your help
Please give me hope - New video card

Re: Please give me hope - New video card
you could install GT 1030 then monitor GPU temperature during different loads.
I installed package mate-sensors-applet-nvidia then followed this guide
https://askubuntu.com/questions/34449/h ... -ati-intel
finally I installed a panel applet MATE Sensors Applet and adjusted preferences to continuously show GPU temperature (53 degrees on my system with light load)

GT 1030 will work just fine. Its not that power hungry card and will not generate too much heat
