Try the nvidia-410 (long-lived branch) by means of the reputable graphics-drivers PPA:

(item 1)
If the nvidia-410 doesn't work well enough, try the nvidia-415.

Hi,
Thank you for helping. I installed 410, however, the issue still occurs where everything is big, and cinnamon crashes and put in render mode. I also tried 415, but same there.

If it's a desktop: with what kind of cable did you connect your display to your computer?

It appears that my graphics card has given up sadly. Started getting more issues after this. It wouldn't let me boot up the PC at all, nor into bios as long as my HDMI or display port we're connected to the graphics card, and everything was pixels. Everything worked once I plugged into the CPU and removed the graphics card.
Sorry for wasting your time!
