I'm running Linux Mint with MATE.  My external HDMI monitors no longer work with my single HDMI port.

When first booting your laptop, is the monitor getting a signal? Is there initially any info displayed on it and then it goes black with the power button blinking, or is the button blinking from the start with a No Signal message?

If the monitor is receiving no signal:

Try disconnecting all connections and reconnecting.
Can you verify that the monitor and cable work on another PC?
Can you connect another monitor to the laptop's HDMI port to verify the port works.


If the monitor is receiving a signal:

Power on the laptop and monitor. Try turning the monitor off and back on while booting and again at the desktop.
Try turning on the laptop only first and wait about 3 seconds before turning on the monitor. The order the monitors are powered on can have an affect.
If there is a special Function Key combination (Fn+F1 through F12) to switch display modes, then try switching the settings and back.
At the desktop, open the Displays program and try setting different resolutions for the monitor

@roblm,

I don't have another computer with HDMI to test with, but both LG monitors stopped working at the same time with this computer (two separate cables) using the single HDMI port, but my Dell monitor still works with HDMI. The LG monitors work with another computer using USB-C.

When I start up the laptop, the LG power buttons just stay blinking. There is no signal.

I reinstalled the drivers, rebooted, and now the two LG monitors work again.
