ATI card works great, except for tv-out

Hey guys,

I'm running Mint on a Toshiba laptop with a Mobility Radeon 9000. Everything works great, but I can't get s-video out to work. Anyone know what to do? I want to use this laptop to watch movies on my TV, and if I can't get s-video working I'm going to have to reinstall Windows XP.

EDIT:
I found the info on this page, and S-Video out now works.

Is there a way to make this enabled every time so I don't have to keep typing it in to the terminal every time I boot? =)

Install envyng from synaptic.
After this is completed try running "envyng -t" in the terminal and try updating your ati driver. Hope this helps

More context needed..
I don't know exactly what you edited or used on the command line..

Did you edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, and save the changes..
  • In a Terminal
    sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    In the desktop
    alt F2, gksu gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
--or using nautilus file manager, right-click /etc/x11 , Open as Root

Hi!

I installed EnvyNG before, but it didn't find any compatible drivers (I guess the card in the laptop is too old). I edited and saved my xorg.conf file, but that had no effect. Inputting the xrandr commands in the terminal worked though. Right now I've created a shell script that will input the correct commands and activate TV-out. I double click it every time I login, and then it outputs a signal to the TV. :D
