Post by supersalbai » Tue Jul 16, 2019 6:50 am

Hi Guys,
for my new Lenovo L340 Laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 3700U // Radeon Vega 10 I can't find - not even mentioning install - an appropriate driver.
Can someone help me please?!

Is your system listed here? If not , there may not be a driver available.

If I have helped you solve a problem, please add [SOLVED] to your first post title, it helps other users looking for help, and keeps the forum clean.

Deepak

I am using Mint 19.2 Cinnamon 64 bit with AMD A8/7410 processor . Memory 8GB

That linked article is over a year old so I don't think it's current ... those type of pages often aren't kept up the way you'd like.

Looking at this ...

https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... t-friendly

... it seems you want a 5.2 series kernel. I don't use 19.x so I don't know what kernels come up in Update Manager. If it's not on the list of supported kernels in UM I doubt I'd bother quite yet unless the video is really bad though.

do not install or look for ryzen vega graphics drivers. there are no drivers for it and DO NOT if you find it install amdgpu-pro
instead install the latest kernel with https://github.com/teejee2008/ukuu the one i'm using is 5.1.15 and use this ppa for mesa https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/u ... cs-drivers

inxi -Fxzd will then tell you what driver in use, this is what i have with ryzen3

Code: Select all

Graphics:
Device-1: AMD Raven Ridge [Radeon Vega Series / Radeon Vega Mobile Series]
driver: amdgpu v: kernel bus ID: 07:00.0
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.19.6 driver: amdgpu unloaded: modesetting
  resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz
OpenGL: renderer: AMD RAVEN (DRM 3.30.0 5.1.15-050115-generic LLVM 8.0.1)
  v: 4.5 Mesa 19.2.0-devel (git-4e102a6 2019-07-14 bionic-oibaf-ppa)
  direct render: Yes

Hi, I am finally back online. Been moving house and guess what... It took three weeks to get the new glasfibre internet working... Thanks guys. Graphics are up and running now with a new kernel!

But need to get the wifi working as well. But I won't mix this into this thread.
