nvidia drivers crash cinnamon after upgrade from 18.3 to 19.2

Post by kaefert » Sat Aug 10, 2019 10:09 am

Hi there!

I upgraded my Mint laptop today because I needed luks2 support on it (to mount encrypted usb disks).

Now when I don't configure niveau drivers in the driver manager cinnamon won't start correctly.

Also I tried installing bumblebee since I have intel and nvidia graphics but that also doesn't work.

Code: Select all

$ optirun glxgears
[ 964.567025] [ERROR]Cannot access secondary GPU - error: [XORG] (EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)
[ 964.567057] [ERROR]Aborting because fallback start is disabled.
