Macbook Pro mid-2012 detecting multiple displays

Post by aniratepanda »

Hi,
Fresh install of Mint 20.1 Cinnamon to breathe new life into a 2012 macbook pro.

Basically, noticed that 2 displays were being detected, new windows sometimes open in second display, display configuration shows two displays being used, defaults to extended.

xrandr shows the two displays below, lvds-0, and lvds-1-1. LVDS-0 appears to be my working display, 1-1 the phantom.

I can just turn off the second display, but I don't want it eating resources unnecessarily, or causing problems with external display configuration/etc.

any help would be much appreciated, thanks much in advance.

Welcome to the forum, aniratepanda.

Please give us information about your install by entering this command in a terminal: inxi -Fxxxrz
Click </> from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply and then place your cursor between the code markers and paste the results of the command between the code markers
Results
. This will let us know how Mint sees your hardware. The data you supplied does not provide information about the actual laptop and Apple made a lot of laptops with similar names and designations.
