NVIDIA Quadro M2000M: no video hardware acceleration <SOLVED>

Post by anynamewilldo »

Hello,

For quite some time I am troubled with the following message box after system start:
Check your video drivers. Your system is currently running without video hardware acceleration. You may experience poor performance and high CPU usage
With an option to launch the Driver Manager.

I already tried to solve this problem by applying solutions of other threads of users with similar problems (e.g. this) with no success so far.

After selecting a different driver (by now I tried all of them) in the Driver Manager the message was eventually not shown for a week or something until it appeared again.
Sometimes a simple reboot resolved it.
But even that does not work any more.

I am on a Lenovo P50 Workstation which comes with Hybrid Graphics (Intel and NVIDIA), which I configured to run in Discrete mode (BIOS Setting), because I had trouble with some application under Windows 10 (it's a dual boot).
