I reverted back to 390 and everything works fine except nvidia-settings.
Hi! Last week I ran into problems with NVidia 450 suspend. I upgraded to 465 latest. I was okay for a couple of days and then the problem came back.
Linux Kernel 5.4.0 is incompatible with NVidia 450/460/465 on my Lenovo Laptop.
The last driver I had working was 450. However. when I tried to reinstall it the NVidiia 450 driver from NVIdia's web site the installer said there were no drivers for 5.4.0 kernel and refused to install.
I then decided to revert back to the long term supported version, 390.
However, 390 has another problem:
Code: Select all
WARNING:root:_pkg_get_support nvidia-driver-390: package has invalid Support Legacyheader, cannot determine support level
Code: Select all
2021-06-12 11:43:08 % nvidia-settings
ERROR: NVIDIA driver is not loaded
ERROR: Unable to load info from any available system
(nvidia-settings:7257): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 11:54:35.774: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
** Message: 11:54:35.777: PRIME: No offloading required. Abort
** Message: 11:54:35.777: PRIME: is it supported? no
The downside is I have to use 'sudo prime-switch intel/nvidia' at the command line to switch graphics mode.
