With a brand new computer, you may need a brand new Mint:

In your case it might be worth a try with the Mint Edge version - the AMD graphics are not fully loaded either:
Graphics:
Device-1: AMD driver: N/A
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.9 driver: ati,fbdev
unloaded: modesetting,radeon,vesa resolution: 1920x1080~77Hz
OpenGL: renderer: llvmpipe (LLVM 11.0.0 256 bits) v: 4.5 Mesa 20.2.6

indicates there is no graphics driver installed and your system is running in software rendering mode (llvmpipe). Without a graphics driver then you can not use an external monitor.

Graphics:
Device-1: AMD driver: N/A
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.9 driver: ati,fbdev
unloaded: modesetting,radeon,vesa resolution: 1920x1080~77Hz

AMD graphics drivers install automatically from the kernel. However, your computer did not exist when the 5.4 kernel was released, so there is no way for it to have the drivers for your system. You need to be using a newer kernel.

The person in this thread [Solved] Question about Driver Manager has an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U (like your computer does) and appears to have found success with the 5.8 kernel which is available in Update Manager.

To install it, open Update Manager. Select View > Linux Kernels and click Continue. Make sure 5.8 is selected on the left panel and then click the top-most option on the right panel. An "Install" button will appear. Install the kernel and then reboot for it to become active.
