[SOLVED] computer sees only 6 of 7 GPUs

Post by milota »

Hi all,

I am a hobby miner and not very experienced in Linux - I learn through mining.

I have added 2 GPUs to my mining computer, there is currently:
  • Linuxmint 20.2 Uma installed
    AMDGPU 20.50 driver
Gigabyte B250 Fintech motherboard with 12 PCIe slots (mining mode enabled)
1300W PSU - the GPUs hardly consume total of 350W
GPUs:
  • 1x RX570 4G (ASUS)
    6x RX560 4G (4x Sapphire, 2x ASUS)
My problem is, that the computer only recognizes 6GPUs max. I can't convince it to see all 7.
All the GPUs work fine and if there is less of them, I can mine on any of them.

I do not think it is a problem of the miner software, inxi -G only list 6 GPUs at a time.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong are appreciated.
Thank you

We don't need the output of inxi -G, we need the output of inxi -Fxz, enclosed in code tags
output.here
. You'll see the code tags icon </> when you reply.

Re: computer sees only 6 of 7 GPUs

Post by milota »

I have made some progress.
I also finally read the manuals to the motherboard and PSU.

I disabled the internal graphics and it convinced the system, that there are 7 GPUs plugged in.
However, the mining software still lists only 6 - working on it.

Edit: after re-enabling Above 4G Decoding (which I disabled together with the internal graphics), all 7 GPUs are mining.
