Acer monitor not working at expected refresh rate

Post by cosmicknight2432 »

My monitor is an Acer nitro VG270. It can go up to 144hz but for some reason I can only set it to 60hz max on the display settings. I tried to force 120hz or 144hz using xrandr but it does not change anything. I can set the refresh rate to anything under 60hz using xrandr, but anything above that does nothing. I just switched from windows, where I could use it at 144hz with no problem. Here are my system informations:

I would appreciate any help to get this running at least at 120hz. It's very frustrating not being able to use my monitor at its maximum capacity.

Use this command and post the output: xrandr --verbose

Are you using the monitor’s HDMI or DP port? If HDMI, did you try both of the two ports?
Does your laptop have a HDMI or DP port?
