The Intel graphics driver for your computer is in the Linux kernel and installs automatically when you boot your computer. There are no graphics drivers for you to install and you should not be adding
nomodeset
which prevents the graphics drivers from installing. Graphics:
Device-1: Intel Skylake GT2 [HD Graphics 520] vendor: Hewlett-Packard
driver: N/A bus ID: 00:02.0
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 driver: fbdev
unloaded: modesetting,vesa resolution: 1366x768~76Hz
OpenGL: renderer: llvmpipe (LLVM 10.0.0 256 bits)
v: 4.5 Mesa 21.1.0-devel (git-23c4b59b46) direct render: Yes
You should remove
nomodeset
and uninstall the driver you added. Then reboot and check the output of
inxi -Gx
. There should be i915
where there is currently N/A and the renderer should be Intel. If that is not the case, please use your installation usb/dvd and boot to a live session of Mint and give us the output of inxi -Gx
from the live session.A woman typing on a laptop with LM20.3 Cinnamon.
Re: Intel skylake gt2 doesnt install
There might be an issue with errors spamming to the log as well:
91 Gigs on a new install?Partition:
ID-1: / size: 181.74 GiB used: 91.59 GiB (50.4%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/sda2
Re: Intel skylake gt2 doesnt install
a disk save from another disk
Re: Intel skylake gt2 doesnt install
