Post by Ramboi »

I have an issue I tried searching but either its way to advanced and im not able to understand it or its not my exact problem
Basically I can run 1920x1080 144hz but I want to run 1280x1024 144hz but I can't and I haven't found any proper tutorial for it

I ran the command xrandr:

Code: Select all

No one's going to be able to do anything here without some useful system information. Copy/paste the text output of inxi -Fxxxrz run in the terminal.

From the looks of your xrandr command you have 1280 x 1024 available under Displays, it looks like it would be 75.02 Mhz rather than 144.

I know, isn't it possible to get 144hz?

To my knowledge if the display shows a certain freq. that's it. Here is a script you might try. No guarantees!!!
#! /bin/sh
xrandr --newmode "1280x1024_144.00" 85.25 1368 1440 1576 1784 768 771 781 798 -hsync +vsync
xrandr --addmode your_output_here 1280x1024_144.00
xrandr -s 1280x1024

xrandr --addmode your_output_here 1280x1024_144.00

I ran them although they both failed

My bad, I did not replace all of the numbers, here is the updated version.
#! /bin/sh
xrandr --newmode "1280x1024_144.00" 85.25 1280 1440 1576 1784 1024 771 781 798 -hsync +vsync
xrandr --addmode your_output_here 1280x1024_144.00
xrandr -s 1280x1024
Try that.
