<SOLVED> Second Monitor detected but no picture

Post by linuxwilson »

EDIT I switched from a DisplayPort cable to a DVI cable for my second monitor and that resolved the issue of the second monitor not displaying the picture but was detected. :D

Second Monitor is a Samsung S24E50 for reference

Hi guys,

I recently connected a generic second monitor to my new Linux build.

My primary monitor displays great picture with an HDMI cable while, the second monitor is connected through a display port , it'll cycle through options on the monitor but it will never display the picture.

I do use this monitor and the cable for my work computer and it does display picture.

I do have the nvidia driver installed for my graphic card.

Unsure of how to remedy the solution.

Thanks for taking a looking at this post.

Edited for additional clarity,
Linux Mint x64 on Xfce Edition
