1. Try this:
https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.c ... html#ID5.1
(item 5.1)

2. If need be, you can also try an OEM kernel from an even newer series:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install linux-oem-22.04b
Reboot after installing it.

3. Finally, this also helps sometimes:

I'm not sure why you are using the OEM kernel on a 7th-gen Intel CPU, but, usually, flickering relates to panel self refresh on a laptop and often disabling that with a kernel parameter clears the issue.

You can use the following information How to add a kernel parameter to temporarily or permanently add the parameter i915.enable_psr=0 to grub. When you add it temporarily, it adds it only for that current boot cycle, so if, for any reason, it seems to cause issues or it does not work, all you need to do is reboot to clear it.

I tried but it doesn't help
I think that the OEM Kernel might be the one causing trouble because this problem started appearing only after I installed the oem kernel to fix my touchpad issue
So how can i roll back to the non oem kernel?

To boot into a 5.15 kernel, bring up the grub menu, select Advanced Options, and then select the desired kernel.

If you do not normally see the grub menu, repeatedly tap the escape key during boot to bring up the grub menu for an UEFI boot computer. See this post for how to edit grub to get the menu to show if you are having problems getting that to work.

Once you are booted into a 5.15 kernel, you can remove any OEM kernels you have installed by using Update Manager.
  • Open Update Manager.
  • Select View > Linux Kernels and click Continue.
  • Select 5.17 on the left panel and then click an option on the right panel which has "Installed" in the middle column. A "Remove" button will appear.
  • Remove the kernel.
  • Repeat the process to remove all installed kernels that are a higher number than 5.15.
Linux Mint automatically boots into the highest number installed kernel, so, once the 5.15 kernel is the highest number, you will not need to use the Advanced Options.
