Dual Monitors (30" landscape and 20" pivot)

Post by manujarvinen »

Hello

Linux Mint 8 Helena
Main edition 32bit
GeForce 8800

I would like to have my 30" 2560x1600 DualLink -monitor and 20" 1600x1200 -monitor to work in my Linux Mint.

The first problem is to have the 30" to work in DualLink mode, now it displays only 1920x1200 maximum.

The second problem is to have the 20" to rotate in pivot (and have resolution 1200x1600)

I searched and tried a couple of Ubuntu ways, but I'm not skilled enough to get them work. However, the DualLink mode is said to get to work by adding a line:
Option "AllowDualLinkModes"
to xorg.conf under Device section

I would appreciate help very very much
Thank you
:)

I have the same limitation on screen resolution. The primary display is on my notebook computer, an Asus N81V with a 14" display. My secondary display is a 22" Samsung SyncMaster 2233sw and is limited to 1200:800.

Have you tried using the nvidia-settings program to configure your monitors?
