looking to upgrade to newer graphics card

running mint 9 main x64

i have the nvidia 290 drivers installed from the x-swat repos

currently running a geforce 9500GT

should i expect any problems if i upgrade to a geforce gt 520? or with the nvidia drivers already installed am i good to go?

Disable the current driver, then plug in the GT 520.

from reading the thread you posted, it looks like i am good in 2 ways.

1. i am running latest nvidia driver
2. I am running mint 9 with kernel 3.0.0-15

Yeap, you're all set. But, I think you should get the GT 430 instead; even though it uses a bit more power, it's got a better gaming performance than the GT 520.
