Can Mint Have Access to more repositories?

Postby trippboxer » Wed Dec 06, 2006 11:50 am

I was wondering if you could add a tool to download from other debian/ubuntu repositories? I know that MEPIS linux aleady has this but it would be nice if Mint had the ability to download and install more than what it has in it's repository. If Mint already has this ability then ignore this, just advise how to use it.

thanks,

If you just want more repositories, add them to your sources.list file, or if you like GUI, then use synaptic to add them. You can use pretty much any Debian repositories you like, though some do need a key.

System->Administration->Software Sources

Then go to the "Third Party" pane and click Add. Then specify your repos' address.
