Mint random ping
Hi! Today I noticed that some Linux distros send a random and anonymous (just a code number) ping to the servers of the distribution in order to count how many computer run that OS. I read this in the Privacy terms of some Linux distribution. If the code number is anonymous for real then I think that it is not a bad idea, it can be useful for statistics. Does Mint have this feature?

In the default configuration Mint does indeed ping Ubuntu's servers every couple of minutes while you are online, but as far as I know no ID number gets transmitted. Various Software on your system will transmit your usage statistics tied to an ID though, e.g. web browsers.
