Opinion Regarding Clear Linux

Post by ismail783 » Mon May 20, 2019 3:32 pm

There are some discussions around clear Linux.

I want to know what our community think about it. Is it being over hyped or there is something into it?

I am asking this because there is documentation to make distribution around Clear Linux. https://github.com/clearlinux/how-to-clear And Linux Mint seems to keep backup (Ex. LMDE)

Performance is great, runs really well on my Intel-based notebook. The desktop was originally more of an afterthought on Clear, but they're pushing harder into that direction now. I do generally like the approach and think it will be great as a bundled OS, but with forced updates, telemetry, and an overall more locked down system it has more of a Windows 10 feel that I do not expect will attract much of the after market Linux crowd. I didn't think they were targeting the latter at all, actually, until they very recently unveiled that new installer, which is geared for the end-user (very much unlike the previous admin-only text interface). So not sure where they'll be taking it from here.
