Ruby in Mint

Post by sourwire »

Just a question that I had for a long time and finally decided to ask. The first time I ran LinuxMint, I noticed that it has Ruby (programming language) right out of the box. I was pretty amazed since Ubuntu doesn't have it. That was also one of the reasons I installed LinuxMint (I'm learning Ruby right now). So that got me thinking, there is probably a good reason why Ruby is in Mint. Maybe part of it is written in Ruby.

Is this true?

Well I went into synaptic to see what would happen if I uninstalled it, and it looks like amarok depends on it :)
