LM Forum website observation

Post by chazb »

I guess this would be for site webmaster. I notice that tops of the Level numbers are missing. Like a seven looks like a slash. Of course it could be the way Firefox is interpreting the webpage. Just thought I would say something.

What do you mean by "Level number"? Can you provide a screenshot so others can compare to what they see?

Doesn't happen to me on Cinnamon 20.3 using Chrome or LibreWolf.

Have you done something to/with fonts, or scaling, or some such thing ?

Open in Firefox menu -> help -> troubleshoot mode and relaunch the browser. The same problem in this mode?

I was looking all over the left side of the webpage so I am glad you clarified because I was looking in the wrong place.

I am running Firefox and not seeing the issue you are noticing. I agree with rickNS this is probably a font size issue. Do you have a specific larger font size set to be used in Firefox? Looking at the screenshot you posted I see that Level, Posts, Joined, and Location are all cut off at the top. Additionally, it appears my avatar is the same size as what I see on my screen in my post, but all the text is larger. Here is what I see on my screen. Notice there is a space between the top of SMG and my avatar. In your screenshot, the SMG is touching the avatar.

Yes, being old seeing becomes problem, and increasing font size helps.

There is a Zoom functionality in Settings > General and an option to "zoom text only". Maybe that will be less likely to cause problems than just increasing the font size?

The other option for increasing what is on the screen is in the Accessibility app. On the Visual tab, one can enable "Desktop Zoom". However, that makes everything larger and not just the text.

Perhaps simply controlling zoom via Ctrl and mousewheel is enough. In every case it is quick and flexible.

+1 for this simple keyboard/mouse wheel function.
