ubuntu and Debian question

Post by TheLastStud »

I was reading about ubuntu and Debian, and it appears that ubuntu is binary incompatible with Debian. I can't understand why, because I thought as long as all the dependencies are satisfied, why can't they use each other's binaries? sorry if it appears to be a weird question, tell me if you don't understand and I'll rephrase.

Ubuntu is binary incompatibly with Debian but not by much. As a result somethings will fail but most will work just fine.
