Put them in any folder You want.
Chose Settings, sound and on the second tab are the sound settings preferences and chose it from the option chose sound in the drop down menu.

Thanks for the comment about the logo I made, your comment brightened my day, I thought no one looked at it.

I think you are quite right there, but you could call it 'Mint OS', still sounds more elegant.

There is another choice!

Do what that other distro did, spend 10 billion dollars on advertising so everybody associates the name mint with Linux mint.

Anybody in with the first billion donation.

Even with windows...

Look how many different meanings of windows there are:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_%2 ... guation%29

A few, but not many, and a bunch of them relate to computers.

Now look at Mint:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mint

Loaaads of things, most of which have nothing to do with computers.

Even if we had millions to spend on advertising Mint it would always mean a whole bunch of different things to different people.

But isn't that the point?!
That it should mean something fresh undefined ...

...or maybe not... :?: :?

And with Windows the comparison halts a little - one should look up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window

I know this is a month old, but I'm going to weigh in anyway.

I discovered Linux Mint is a magazine article a few weeks ago. I never questioned the name, it sounded fine to me. Since then I have thrown it into conversation several times, and it's not a bad sounding combination of words, to me at least. To be honest, I struggled more with saying 'Ubuntu'. (Bless you).

Furthermore, I think having 'Linux' in there helps understanding of the OS. Linux is a strength! Maybe the word cold be de-emphasised somewhat in a revised logo, but it could be worse... Richard Stallman would insist on 'GNU/Linux Mint'!

So I wouldn't sweat it. Although the kerning could use a little polish. And what's with the shoulder on the second 'n'?...

Carlos did the logo. I'm sure he would weigh in his thoughts if you started a new topic about the technical aspects of the typography used. So long as you dont suggest using a different font all together, which might make him and Clem cranky :P

I may make a new thread when I draw up my ideas. It's nothing too radical anyways. I really like the look of Mint as-is. It's one of the reasons I tried the distro!

I found this logo on MintArt one day

I <3 it and think that it'd make an awesome logo (especially for MintMenu)
