CyberPower PowerPanel Personal Linux software

Post by felemur »

I'm looking at getting a new UPS, and one of the issues I have with my APC unit is there is no Linux UPS control software from APC. However, I noticed that CyberPower does have Linux software. The only concern I have is when I was reading about it on the CyberPower site, they state it is compatible with Ubuntu 14.04, but they do not mention any edition past that. Here is the web page: https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/produ ... for-linux/

My question is: does anyone here use this software on Mint 19.3, and if so, does it work OK?

There's a control daemon for APC battery backup units available for download in the LM software center. Look for "apcupsd" and do some research and testing to see if it's appropriate for you.
Please be polite and remember to mark your fixed problem [SOLVED].

Presently running Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.3.

I tried that one a couple of years ago, and I just could not get it to work. I even asked for help on this forum, but could not get it resolved.

You could try contacting the manufacturer. Maybe try contacting support. Perhaps they just failed to update their website.

Nut (network UPS tools) is another software that is available for certain models. Here is a list of the models that it supports

Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon unless otherwise noted.

I could never get the personal version to work. However, I use the business local version and it works fine. It has a browser interface on port 3052 of your machine's ip address. I included this because it is not easy to find that port number in their documentation.

Are you talking about the Cyberpower software? (A few software titles were mentioned in this thread.)

I have been using a 1500W Cyberpower UPS for years, never hooked up the USB cable.

with this discussion, I went to the 'net and downloaded their Win7 software.
it works great. that UPS powers my LTE modem, and WiFi router, so I have 50 minutes of airtime after a major power failure.

When all the house lights go out, I power the Win7 desktop and monitor down....
the LTE modem and WiFi router will run for hours off of that UPS

all of my other devices are laptops with internal batteries, so no UPS needed.
